The second largest Crater Lake in Africa, with the African Map look like shape, Lake Ngosi has the
depth of 74M, 2.5Km long and 1.6 Km wide, there is no inlet and outlet, also the water changes from Blue, dark and green. There are two ways by which you can reach Lake Ngosi the first one is via Iduda and the second is via Mchangani,Via iduda you can either do walking from Iduda up to the crater rim or you can drive up to the gate. the slopes of the crater wall are covered by upper Montana forest, glass
land and bamboo. Monkey and many birds’ species can be seen in the forest which
is also home of endemic species of three horned chameleon.
The lake has spiritual significance for the local
inhabitants.
Activities
which can be done are Hiking, trekking, research, animal viewing, Bird
watching, exploring the nature, photographing, and walking safaris and cultural
tours.
